Outdoor First Aid (OFA).

Outdoor First Aid courses, can be described as emergency care for remote locations.

It is not about advanced skills, but being confident and competent in using basic skills for extended periods of time, and anticipating changes in the casualties status by good observation and recording of vital signs.

Alder Holly offer regulated qualifications in ITC outdoor first aid, rqf level 3 in England and Wales or scqf level 5 in Scotland

Also available is a non accredited ITC course in outdoor first aid and incident management.

These courses can run over 2 or more days or over evening classes.

ITC RQF level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid

A 2 unit award for those living or working in the outdoor environment. Meets forestry plus f requirements and all outdoor NGB awards. Meets IOL standards for outdoor first aid course delivery.

SQA Level 5-ITC Certificate in Outdoor First Aid (Unit 1 + Unit 2), (16+ hours).

Unit 1 covers Emergency First Aid at Work requirements but with an outdoor context

Unit 2 Considers extended outdoor scenarios where outside help may be more than 30 minutes or longer away. Covers injury, illness, on going casualty care and observatins, environmental factors (heat,cold, water)

This course meets or exceeds the requirements of UK National Governing Bodies (NGB) and Youth Organisations.

We can tailor this course to meet your specific group requirements.

Please note: Unit 2 course duration is a minimum of 8 contact hours and run over a minimum one day period, or equivalent timings such as evening sessions.

ITC Advanced / Expedition Wilderness First Aid 16 Hours.

This course builds on the scqf Level 5 % rqf level 2 awards in outdoor first aid or any first aid at work course and is aimed at those wishing to further develop and improve their skills. Focus on specific environments such as mountain, water, jungle, desert, or altitude.

Introduces use of some of additional equipment and longer term patient care, triage, casualty observation, anticipating changes.
